Privacy policy

Last updated September 4, 2026.

ClipGIF is a client-side converter. When you pick a video, the file is read by this page in your browser. Conversion runs with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly (WASM). We do not operate an upload API for video, and we do not store clips on a server.

What stays on your device

  • The video you select, including any trim points you set.
  • The GIF preview and the downloaded file.
  • The FFmpeg engine after the first download (browser HTTP cache / memory in this tab).

What leaves your device

  • Ordinary page requests: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and this site’s static assets (including the small sample clip if you click it).
  • The FFmpeg WASM core (~32 MB) from a public CDN (jsDelivr, with unpkg as fallback). That request is not your video. It is the converter program.
  • If you later enable Google AdSense with real publisher and slot IDs, Google will set cookies and collect the data described in Google’s policies. This repository ships placeholders only — no publisher ID is hardcoded.

Accounts, cookies, and analytics

ClipGIF does not create accounts and does not need a login. We do not ship an analytics or traffic script. If the site operator later adds analytics or ads, those vendors have their own policies.

Limits we state in the product

Browser tabs have finite memory. Large files, long durations, high fps, and wide output can fail or freeze the tab. Those failures happen on your device. We reject files over 80 MB and cap a single GIF at 20 seconds to reduce that risk. Mobile browsers are stricter.

Children

This tool is a general-purpose utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children because we do not collect video or account data.

Contact

The site operator can be reached through the project repository if one is published. There is no inbound video inbox.
