Does ClipGIF upload my video?+

No. Processing stays in this browser. We do not store your clips on a server.

Why is the first conversion slow?+

The first run can take a bit. It loads the converter onto this device; later runs are quicker. Long clips and high quality still take more time.

Which formats can I convert?+

MP4, WebM, or MOV in. GIF or animated WebP out. If WebP fails, you get a GIF.

GIF or WebP — which should I pick?+

GIF works in more apps. WebP is usually smaller at the same trim, fps, and width. Presets pick one for you; you can switch it.

What are the file and duration limits?+

Files larger than 80 MB are rejected. A warning appears above 25 MB on desktop and 15 MB on phones. The trimmed range is capped at 20 seconds. Short clips (3–8 seconds) make smaller files.

Will this work on my phone?+

Yes for short, small clips. If the tab struggles, use a file under 15 MB, trim to a few seconds, set width to 320–480px, and pick Economy.

Why does the file look grainy or huge?+

GIF has a limited color palette. Lower fps (8–10), a narrower width, a shorter trim, or WebP shrinks the file. High quality looks cleaner and is larger. Size comes from duration, fps, width, and quality together — not one setting.

How do Discord and Telegram presets work?+

They fill trim, fps, width, quality, format, and optional square crop. Discord GIF aims under about 8 MB. Discord sticker uses 320×320. Telegram presets prefer compact WebP. You can still edit any control after you tap a preset.
